Hello everyone! Long time no write. Or, well, you know what I mean.
Sorry I haven't posted anything earlier is because tonight was prom-night (yes, super exciting...) and I have had to prepare some things for that (which, thanks to my lovely sister and her friend wasn't very much as far as hair and makeup goes, but I have had to travel here and pack and stuff). However, I can promise you a gazpacho recipe for tomorrow :) Hopefully. If internet doesn't fail me, which it has a tendency to do some times.
Anyway, while I'm up and all (It's 3 am and I just got home, but I'm hyper now so it's all good. I think I might have to stay awake until I'm going home later on...), I thought I'd post about a book I've read, which means it's part of nr. 10 on my list.
On Wednesday, before I got on the bus to go back to school for the prom on Thursday (yesterday...you know what I mean), I went to the library in my home town to borrow some books. Unfortunately, the English section is very limited (I believe a book should be read in its original language as far as possible), so when I had gotten over the anger (if you can call it that) that I felt for the library, I actually found 6 books to read. I had already read one of them before, but still. I think I should alter point nr 10 to be "Read at least 6 books I want to read" because I have a feeling that I'll be reading more than 6 books. I know I didn't say anything about having or not having read them before, and that's because I don't care. The reason for this blog is to share my views with you about how I think and such, and therefore, if I find a book so interesting I'm willing to read it more than once, then it should be recommended.
The first book I took on out of the 6 I borrowed was a childrens' book called Molly Moon, Mickey Minus and the Mind Machine . It is the 4th book in a series (Previous books are; Molly Moon's hypnotic time travel adventure Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism , Molly Moon Stops the World (My personal favorite) and Molly Moon's Hypnotic Time Travel Adventure ) and there is a 5th called Molly Moon and the Morphing Mystery which I haven't been able to get my hands on yet BECAUSE OUR LIBRARY IS SUCKY! (I haven't gotten my hands on Mickey Minus and the Mind Machine in the sense that I own it, but at least I've read it)
The whole series is about an ordinary girl (an orphan who was found in a box that had contained Moon's Marshmallows... I think Moon's Marshmallows sounds delicious to eat right now...I should eat something.... anyway,) with a not so ordinary gift. She realizes that she can hypnotize people and during the series she explores what she can do with her gift and how it works. It may sound dull, but it's not. I loved these books when I was a little younger (and I still do). I will try not to spoil too much, but if you're planning to read the series, you might want to not read this part (but if you want to spoil, then go right ahead), but during every book (more or less) she finds a part of herself and she wants to know who her family really is (I am not sure if she says it outright or not, but it's implied anyway). In this book, she's found her mother and father, but have been told she has a twin brother who is somewhere. With the powers she's learned before (freezing time and time traveling, and of course hypnotism) she travels back in time to see what happened to him and she realizes that she needs to help him. She finds a new power within herself in this book as well, like she has throughout the others.
As you may have noticed, I keep referring to this piece of literature as a book. And it is a book. But I do this on purpose because for the past 3 years, I've been forbidden from calling a novel or a short story or something like that a book, so now I'm making up for it ;)
Okay so it wasn't the longest post in the history of blogging, but I think I've told you the essential. I really recommend this series for children of maybe 9-10 years, both boys and girls, and I know that I'm a really big kid most of the time, but I still find all of these books to be extremely entertaining even as an (almost) adult.
That's all for me now :) Remember to look here today (tomorrow) and I'll hopefully have been able to put the gazpacho-recipe up tomorrow.=)
